Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law arrested in Pakistan – News of the world

Opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz vice-president Maryam Nawaz on Monday alleged that police barged into her hotel room in Karachi and arrested her husband and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar.

On Sunday, while addressing a large anti-government rally in the port city, Maryam said, “The police broke the door of my room in the hotel I was staying in Karachi and arrested Captain Safdar.”

She said that police were “asleep” in her hotel room when she was staying with her husband.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) minister Ali Zaidi, however, refuted her claim, saying, “Maryam (is) once again lying that the hotel door was broken.” Safdar, who was being kept at Aziz Bhatti police station, was arrested a day after he shouted slogans of Quaid (Pakistan founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah) before the second rally of Pakistan Democratic Organization (PDM), 11 opposition parties Alliance of.

Safdar later damaged government property before leaving the site with his followers.
