LahoreA Lahore court on Tuesday filed a civil case against the mother of ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, alleging illegal occupation of 65,340 yards (108 kanals) of land around Jati Umrah.
Judge Muhammad Kashif heard the case filed by Rabia Roshan, a citizen. He directed the plaintiff to present his final arguments at the next hearing and adjourned the case.
In response, Shamim Bibi said she had bought the land legally and had the documents to substantiate her claim to the property.
He alleged that the woman had filed a case against the Sharif family for blackmailing and had agreed to keep all relevant documents related to the property on record.
Roshan said in his petition that Shamim Bibi illegally got her mother to sign the land transfer process and petitioned the court that the land process was void and had no legal effect.
