A meeting of the National Finance Commission (NFC) on the resumption of the IMF aid package for Pakistan was abruptly adjourned on Thursday.
According to sources, the finance ministry was to discuss resource allocation with the provinces at the meeting. However, the Finance Ministry canceled the meeting citing unavoidable reasons.
All the provincial members of the NFC were invited to the important meeting before the resumption of the IMF aid package. The meeting was to discuss federal government spending and resources. Thursday’s meeting was supposed to finalize measures to reduce spending and new proposals for the NFC Awards, but was postponed.
