Leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) met Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday and discussed issues related to the Senate elections, 24 News HD TV reported.
The PML-Q delegation was represented by Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, Monis Elahi and Tariq Bashir Cheema while Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Pervez Khattak and Shafqat Mahmood represented the government.
Prime Minister Imran assured the members of the PML-Q delegation that the government would take its allies on board before taking any action in connection with the Senate elections.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Imran approved the name of Kamil Ali Agha from PML-Q as a joint candidate in the Senate elections.
He also formed a three-member committee comprising Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar to work out a strategy for winning the Upper House elections.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister accepted the invitation of Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervez Elahi to inaugurate the new building of the Punjab Assembly.
