Odisha: Guidelines, Timeline for PG Spot Admission

BHUBANESWAR: The Department of Higher Education on Thursday released guidelines and timelines for admission to PG courses in the state colleges and universities for the academic session 2020-21.

The department has conducted the General PG Entrance Examination (CPET-2020) from October 12 to October 22 last year for admission to PG courses in the state’s public universities and colleges. After the publication of the entrance examination result, admission was conducted in three rounds of selection.

But some students did not get admission in the first, second and third round selections. After finding some left-out seats, the government has started the spot admission process for students ranked in CPET-2020. Some students did not upload graduation marks before starting the admission process due to the delay in obtaining the certificate. As per the guidelines, they can now participate in the spot admission process.

The General Admit Card (CAF) will be available in student login from 11 am on January 9 to provide new options for spot admission. The last date to offer new options at CAF is 12 January at 2 pm. The merit list will be published on January 15 at 11 am.

Merit list candidates will report from January 16 to January 20 at their colleges or universities. The list of selected candidates from the report will be published by 5 pm on 20 January. Document verification, payment and admission of selected candidates will be held on 21 January. And 22. The data of the admitted students will be updated in the SESM portal by 5 pm on 23 January.

If vacancies still remain, universities or colleges may contact the remaining candidates who reported during the reporting period and complete the admissions process by 31 January. To get more information, students can contact helpline number 155335 or 18003456770.

As per the guidelines, candidates are advised to go through university or college-wise vacant seat positions and cuts of details. Selection will be made on merit only (CPET mark with career mark).
