Odisha online classes: Odisha will provide free smartphones to all families in ‘Swabhiman Aanchal’ region: CM Patnaik

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday interacted with the people of Naxal prone “Swabhiman Anchal” in Malkangiri district through video conferencing and announced that the state government would provide free smartphones to all the families in the area.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Patnaik said, “Swabhimaan Aanchal has always been close to my heart and I will continue my efforts to make it a leading region in the state. The state government will provide free smartphones to all families. The area. Mobile phones will help children learn online and connect people from other parts of the country. ”

“There are four mobile towers in Swabhimaan area, while soon three more towers with 4G facilities will be built,” he said.

Patnaik said that in 2018 he visited Swabhimaan Aanchal and announced a special package of Rs 100 crore. Later, it was raised to Rs 215 crore, “The expanded package focuses on education, livelihood health, communication, drinking water, irrigation, housing, banking and exposure visits for Mission Shakti Moms”.

Swabhiman Aanchal is known for turmeric cultivation, arrangements are being made here for the cultivation of turmeric as well as processing and marketing in the country. Including ongoing projects related to power supply, piped water supply, lift irrigation projects. The area, Patnaik said, would soon be imaginary.

Patnaik also announced that Rs 100 crore would be spent for the construction of roads in the erstwhile cut-off area, which would include concrete roads in the bridges of each village.

He said that work was going on at 42 Anganwadi centers and health sub-centers in Swabhimaan area and this would be completed soon.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Patnaik urged the Left Wing Extremism (LWE) cadres to give up violence and return to the mainstream and help in the development of the district.
