Following instructions from the National Command Operations Center (NCOC), KP authorities have quarantined 21 of the 24 Kovid victims, 24 News HD reported Monday.
All the patients were airlifted from Sharjah to Peshawar Airport by a private airline three days ago and were detained at the Police Services Hospital Peshawar following a British liaison agreement.
The NCOC directed the KP administration to bring the fleeing patients back to quarantine at all costs. With the help of police, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department brought in 21 patients from its various home districts. However, the search for the three patients who escaped is ongoing.
Sources said that the health department has declared the hospital as a quarantine center for people returning from abroad. However, insiders said the isolation center lacked staff and medical facilities to accommodate the patient. Corona cases are declining in KP as there are only 9,727 active cases in which 70 patients are being treated with ventilators and 157 patients in intensive care units (ICUs).
