OJEE: Kovid Precaution: To verify documents online during OJEE consultation

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) officials will do online verification of students’ documents during counseling for B.Tech, BAchch, Integrated MSc courses. Due to Kovid status, students will not visit any nodal center for document verification and will upload it online for verification.

OJEE President SK Chand said that this year they will be conducting web based consultations keeping in mind Kovid’s position. “Until last year, we were organizing nodal centers across the state for counseling and document verification. Students were coming to the number of nodal centers at various scheduled dates,” he said.

Chand said that he had changed the offline process due to the epidemic situation. “In this web based counseling process, candidates will upload their documents in the OJEE website and our team will verify it. After that they can download their allotment letter for admission,” he said.

An officer involved in this counseling process said that visiting hundreds of students with their parents at a nodal center is not a good idea during this Kovid situation. “If this can be made possible by the online process, then why physical presence is necessary. This is being done to protect the candidates,” he said.

During document verification, questions can be raised by the verification authorities on the basis of observation.
