Two own goals helped Arsenal recover from a 4–1 defeat to Mold Moley in Europa League Group B on Thursday, with Nicholas Pepe and Joe Wilk also scoring for the Londoners.
Arsenal struggled to cope with Molde’s offensive pressure game, which led to an opening goal by Martin Ellingsen as Norway won the ball in midfield and fired a dipping ball out of the area in the 22nd minute.
Home-half equalized in the first-half stoppage time after a sweeping move from Molde corner. Eddie Nekethia hit a lower center from the right and Christopher Hogan tied the ball into his net.
Defender Saeed Kolasinak missed a great opportunity for Arsenal, waving the ball over the open goal from close range, but they advanced in the 62nd minute when Willow pulled the ball and Sheriff Sinan caught it in his net.
Pepe made it three eight minutes before the left-handed shot when Arsenal put the pressure on Molde clearance to win the ball and set up Willow to score.
Arsenal top Group B at nine points from three games, three ahead of Molde. Rapid Vienna, which beat Irish side Dandalak 4-3 in the evening, is third with three points.
