Pakistan Army wants to benefit from German training, expertise in technical development: COS

Chief of Army Staff (COOS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa paid an official visit to Germany on Friday to discuss issues of mutual interest with German Army leaders.

During the visit, the COS met with German Army Chief of Defense General Eberhard Zorn, according to a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Also present on the occasion was Dr. Deliff Waters, Director General of Security and Defense Policy of the German Ministry of Defense.

During the meeting, issues of mutual interest, regional security situation, cooperation in defense and security domain and bilateral cooperation in various fields were discussed.

The COAS said that the Pakistan Army would like to enhance bilateral defense cooperation to benefit from German expertise in training and technical development. This will have a positive impact on bilateral relations as well as regional security.

The German dignitaries also appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in regional peace and security, fighting the scourge of terrorism and bringing peace and stability to the region, especially Pakistan’s role in the Afghan peace process.

Both sides pledged to further expand defense and security cooperation at all levels.

Earlier, upon his arrival at the Ministry of Defense, the COS laid a wreath at the monument and was presented with a guard of honor by a contingent of troops.
