Pakistan has condemned the extrajudicial killing of three Kashmiris by Indian forces in Shopian town of occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK), the Foreign Office said on Monday.
“Pakistan has strongly condemned the extrajudicial killing of three Kashmiris, including a 14-year-old minor and a 10th class student, by Indian occupying forces,” the Foreign Office said in a statement.
According to the Hindustan Times, Indian forces shot dead two Kashmiris in an overnight encounter on Sunday morning, while another was killed on Saturday night, according to the Hindustan Times.
The escalation of “fake encounters” is a matter of grave concern. The extrajudicial killings of young people, including teenagers, and the refusal to return the human remains of martyrs are completely illegal and reflect the moral bankruptcy of the Indian professional forces. The Foreign Office said in a statement.
The Foreign Office recalled how Pakistan had repeatedly called for an independent inquiry into the extrajudicial killings of all innocent Kashmiris under an international inquiry.
It further said, “We call on the international community to hold India accountable for the gross and systematic violations of human rights in the IIOJK and to resolve the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people. Work for a peaceful solution. ” .
