After Google removed the Paytm app from the Play Store, in a blog post, the company assured its users that their balances and linked accounts were completely safe.
Here is the full blog post:
“We have recently launched ‘Paytm Cricket League’ on our consumer app to enable users to engage in their cricket passion and get cashback. The game allows users to receive player stickers after each transaction, collect them and receive Paytm cashback.
This afternoon, we received a communication from Google that they are suspending our app because they believe it is a violation of their Play Store policies on gambling. The Paytm Android app is thus removed from Google’s Play Store and temporarily unavailable to users for new downloads or updates.
While it is clear that all activities on Paytm are completely legitimate, we have temporarily removed the cashback component in an attempt to meet the requirements of the Play Store policy.
We continue to work with Google to reinstall the application. We assure all our users that their balances and linked accounts are 100% secure. Our services are fully functional on all existing apps and you can continue to enjoy Paytm as before.
