New Delhi: Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said on Wednesday that the industry should start working with good ideas and firm implementation plans for the post-COVID period as it is the worst for the economy and revival is in the air.
He said this through a video conference while meeting the Industry and Trade Association. This was the fifth such meeting after the lockdown to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and take note of their suggestions to get the economy back on track.
“, It would be better if you start working with good ideas, firm implementation plans and post COVID period to make India a world power.”
The minister said that “the worst case scenario for the economy is over. Things are going fine and revival is continuing in the air.”

Expressing concern, he also said that India still relies on many regular items such as furniture, toys and sports shoes, despite the fact that the country possesses technical skills as well as skilled manpower.
Goyal called on the industry to try in this regard by thinking of sustainable, out-of-the-box ideas.
He assured the unions that their suggestions are duly scrutinized, and rational, and genuine demands are taken in time.
Furthermore, he said that after the last three decades of liberalization, the country had progressed but the focus was city-centric.
“Rural and backward areas were deprived, causing millions of people to migrate to cities for employment and opportunities,” he said.
The meeting was attended by representatives from various institutions including CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, NASSCOM, PHDCCI, CAIT, FISME, Lagu Udyog Bharti, SIAM and ACMA.
