PML-Q says PDM’s request for votes in Senate elections will not be rejected

PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi have made it clear that they will not support the opposition in the upcoming Senate elections for chairman and deputy chairman.

Although the 11-party opposition coalition has not yet announced a candidate, it is expected to field PPP leader Yousuf Raza Gilani, who recently won a Senate seat in Islamabad. Has defeated government candidate Abdul Hafeez Sheikh in the race.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari along with Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Chaudhry Manzoor, Hassan Murtaza and Qamar Zaman Kaira called on Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi at their residence in Gulberg today to seek votes for them. Opposition.

Sources said Geo News Bilawal sought Gilani’s support in the Senate elections in particular.

He also inquired about the health of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain from former President Asif Ali Zardari and sent his best wishes.

In this regard, Chaudhry Shujaat said that he respects Bilawal, but will not support the opposition candidate.

He said the government was an ally, and he had already been assured of Chaudhry’s support for the candidate, current chairman Sadiq Sanjrani.

“We are supporting the government headed by Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Senate elections,” Shujaat told Bilawal.

Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said: “We do not back down from our promise and breaking any commitment is against our principles.”

PML-Q leaders including Federal Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema, MNA Monis Elahi, Hussain Elahi and Chaudhry Salik Hussain were also present during the meeting.
