Police say the Faisalabad juvenile abuser was reunited with his family

The boy was reunited with his parents just hours after a case was filed against a family member for brutally beating a minor on Saturday, police said.

The spokesman said the child would be transferred to the Children’s Protection Bureau and would be produced in court on Monday.

The police had registered a case on the complaint of the Child Protection Bureau.

The bureau moved when a family beat a child after a video surfaced.

Earlier, police said raids were being carried out to nab the perpetrators of child abuse.

Violation of children’s rights

Meanwhile, Sarah Ahmed, chairperson of the Child Protection Bureau, said the 12-year-old is a domestic worker who works for a family.

“Family members said they were killing the child because he was mentally ill. There was no justification for killing him,” Ahmed said.

A case has been registered against the man and his wife, the chairperson said.

Chief Minister Bazdar took notice

Similarly, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar had taken notice of the incident and sought a report from RPO Faisalabad, a statement from the provincial government said.

The statement said, “The Chief Minister has directed to take legal action against those involved in torturing an innocent child.”

In the FIR registered against the accused, it was mentioned that the incident took place in Eden Valley neighborhood of Faisalabad.

It added that the incident took place on December 3, however, an official of the Child Protection Bureau informed the police about it on December 5.
