London: Researchers in Britain have found that the chances of finding Earth-like planets in the early stage of formation are much higher than before.
The team of researchers from the University of Sheffield studied clusters of young stars in the Milky Way to see if they were specific to other star-forming regions in space compared to theories and previous observations, and the starry populations in these clusters Influenced the possibility of finding Earth-like planets to study.
Research published in The Astrophysical Journal found that these clusters have more sun-like stars than expected, which would increase the likelihood of Earth-like planets being discovered in their early stages of formation.
In their early stages of formation, these Earth-like planets, called magma oceanic planets, are still formed from collisions with rocks and small planets, causing them to become so hot that their surface becomes molten rock.
“These magma ocean planets are easy to detect near stars like the Sun, which are twice as heavy as the average mass star. These planets emit so much heat that we will be able to observe the brightness from them using the next generation of infra red. The telescopes said that the lead researcher, Dr. Richard Parker.
The research involved diversely graduated students, giving them the opportunity to apply the skills learned during the major course of research published in their field.
“The places where we will find these planets are so-called ‘youth dynamic groups’, groups of young stars who are less than 100 million years old – who are young to a single star. “Observations from the Gaia telescope have helped us find many more stars in these clusters, which enables us to carry out this study,” Parker said.
