Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday called on Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong and reiterated the government’s top priority on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and expedited the completion of its projects. Reiterated his firm commitment.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, during the meeting, Pak-China bilateral relations, including the CPEC, the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, vaccine cooperation and high-level bilateral discussions were discussed.
The Prime Minister praised the Chinese leadership and extended his heartfelt congratulations to President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang.
Emphasizing on the timely trial of “All Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership”, Prime Minister Imran Khan reaffirmed Pakistan’s deep commitment to further enhance and expand relations with China.
The Prime Minister recalled his telephone conversation with Prime Minister Keqiang on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, which was a reflection of the excellent cooperation between Pakistan and China.
The Chinese ambassador extended an invitation to Prime Minister Xi Jinping to attend the CPC and World Political Parties Summit in July.
The Prime Minister graciously accepted the invitation to attend the virtual event.
Ambassador Rong assured that China would continue to fully support Pakistan in its fight against COVID-19 epidemics and would sign a high-priority agreement to help meet Pakistan’s needs.
“It was agreed to continue the pace of high-level bilateral exchanges to further consolidate the benefits of strategic cooperation between the two countries,” the statement added.
