PTI leader reprimands Center over Karachi gas crisis

PTI leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi on Friday criticized the federal government, saying it would embarrass Prime Minister Imran Khan, Energy Minister Omar Omar Ayub and Assistant to the Prime Minister Petroleum Nadeem Babar. That Karachi is suffering from gas crisis.

“I don’t care if it’s a PTI government [at the Centre] Or the N-League, “he said during a press conference. The gas supply in this city is not good. I will keep making noise [over the issue]. The Prime Minister should listen, Omar Ayub should listen and Nadeem Babar should listen too. I will assure them that they will be ashamed and tell them.Some are ashamed, some areNaqvi said.

The PTI leader, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly, demanded that the government address the issue of gas shortage in Karachi.

“Two years have passed [since the PTI came into power] “They should solve this problem,” Naqvi said.

“It is the right of the people to be provided gas for their use,” he said.

Responding to the situation, Sui Southern Gas Company said that the company was facing less pressure in supplying gas to residential and commercial customers.

He said that due to shortage of supply from gas fields, gas shortage was felt at a distance of about 100 mm and 100 mm.

The SSGC said the supply from various gas fields was so low that it was difficult for the company to supply gas to residential and commercial areas of the city.

The gas supply company said its top priority was the city’s residential units.
