Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Sunday called for immediate action to stop the ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people and their property.

During a virtual meeting of the OIC Executive Committee, he raised four points that reflect Pakistan’s stance on Israeli violence against the Palestinians.

According to a Foreign Office statement, the Foreign Minister said that, first of all, it is important that the international community protect the Palestinians from the relentless and illegal use of force and blatant human rights violations.

The statement read: “Immediate intervention and concrete steps must be taken to stop Israeli atrocities against the civilian population in Gaza. The bombing in Gaza must be stopped immediately.”

Second, it is imperative that the resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council, the UN General Assembly and the UN Human Rights Council be implemented as soon as possible.

Third, “Israel’s crimes against humanity must not be held accountable.”

“There should be no exceptions to Israel’s violations of international law, including the Fourth Geneva Convention and several other human rights conventions,” Qureshi said.

The foreign minister also lamented efforts to create “false equality” between Israel, the aggressors, and the Palestinians, the victims.

He said such efforts were “unforgivable” and as the collective voice of the Muslim Ummah, the OIC should “work in unity to eradicate deliberate delusion”.

He added, “Attempts to silence and report on the media through atrocities, as evidenced by yesterday’s horrific Israeli airstrikes that toppled a tall building in Gaza that housed media outlets, are unacceptable.” Is.”

The Foreign Minister reminded the forum that the OIC has initiated the Palestinian issue.

“In this hour of need, the Muslim Ummah must show strong solidarity and support for its Palestinian brothers and sisters,” he said.

He assured that Pakistan, as a member of the Executive Committee and the next Chair of the Council of Foreign Ministers, is steadfast and ready to take any step to stop the ongoing bloodshed and restore human dignity and human rights. Will work closely with other member states of the Palestinian Authority.

“Israeli aggression continues

Qureshi said that Pakistan was shocked by the unusual, disproportionate and indiscriminate use of force, oppression and injustice by the Israeli occupying forces against the defenseless Palestinians.

There are no strong words to condemn the organized and barbaric crimes against the Palestinians. The situation is still dire, “he said.

He noted that the indiscriminate use of force by Israeli forces against non-defense Palestinians “amounts to a serious violation of fundamental principles of international law, including international human rights and human rights law.”

“In the face of the deteriorating situation for the Palestinian people, my Prime Minister Imran Khan has held talks with King Salman bin Abdulaziz of the two mosques, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

“I have also been in touch with key regional counterparts, including Brother Riaz al-Maliki,” Qureshi said.

‘Endless, unconscious violence must end’

“Israeli aggression cannot be the latest justification or repentance,” he said.

He said that Pakistan has condemned in the strongest terms the ongoing Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, which have resulted in the death and injury of several innocent Palestinians.

He added that Pakistan, in the strictest terms, also condemns the attacks on innocent worshipers at Al-Aqsa Mosque, which violates the sanctity of the first qiblah.

Qureshi stressed the need for death and destruction in the holy month of Ramadan. Unacceptable during Eid al-Fitr. “Endless, senseless violence must end,” he said.

He also expressed Pakistan’s deep concern over the continued expansion of Israeli settlements in the occupied territories and the eviction of Palestinians from their property.

The tragedy of forcibly evicting Palestinians from Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Al-Quds Al-Sharif, the latest revelation of systematic Israeli efforts to change the demographic structure, and the historical-historical and legal status This is clearly illegal, immoral and unacceptable.

‘Pakistan reaffirms unwavering solidarity with Palestine’

“At this critical juncture, we reiterate our unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian government and people. We bravely defend their legitimate rights. We stand by Israeli atrocities and the protection of their Arab and Islamic identities,” he said. We salute their courage. “

Qureshi reaffirmed the Palestinian people’s continued support in their rightful struggle for legitimate rights, especially their illegitimate right to self-determination.

“I reiterate Pakistan’s support for a two-state solution in accordance with relevant UN and OIC resolutions, along with pre-1967 borders, and for Al-Quds Al-Sharif to be the capital of a viable, independent and prosperous Palestinian state. As, “he said.

In the absence of such a solution, the foreign minister said, “any notion of human dignity would be tarnished, regional peace would be invaded, and international security would be jeopardized.”

“We must not fail the Palestinian people at this critical juncture,” he stressed.
