Railway Board approves 39 more special trains, see full list here – India news

The Railway Ministry announced on Wednesday that the Railway Board has approved the zone for 39 new trains. These services will be offered as special services from the earliest convenient date.

According to the list, most of the trains are AC Express, Duranto, Rajdhani and Shatabdi category. Railway Board Chairman Vinod Kumar Yadav said that Indian Railways plans to run more than 200 trains during the festive season between October 15 and November 30.

The railways suspended the services of all passenger trains from March 25 due to the nationwide lockout. However, it resumed services from May 1 with workers’ special trains to help stranded migrant workers reach their home states.

Later, it introduced 230 special trains across the country, followed by 80 other special trains from 12 September. The additional trains were announced keeping in view the Kovid-19 status and also allowed reverse migration of workers to urban areas for work. Entering Country Unlock 4.0

Railways have recently started operating clone trains under its network. Initially a total of 40 (20 pairs) trains will run on the Indian railway network, which has seen a huge demand for passenger traffic.

The main feature of the cloned trains will be that these trains will be less stagnant and will run at a higher speed than the original train.

Meanwhile, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) on Wednesday announced the resumption of operations of Tejas Express trains to meet the growing passenger demand due to festive season.
