Rain is expected in upper and central parts of Pakistan next week, the Meteorological Department said on Tuesday.

The Meteorological Department said in a statement that a strong westerly wave is likely to enter Pakistan on Wednesday and continue till Sunday.

Under the influence of this weather system:

Occasionally in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Kohat, Peshawar, Karam, Waziristan, Bannu, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum. Snowfall is likely in the high mountains from Wednesday to Sunday – with isolated heavy falls.

In addition, strong winds with rain in DI Khan, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Layyah, Sargodha, Khushab, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Jwang, Toba Tek Singh, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Narowal, Kasur. Chance of rain (with rain) and Okara from Wednesday (night) to Sunday with occasional intervals.

Similarly, rain is also expected in Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Chaman, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Sukkur and Larkana on Thursday night.

Heavy rains in unsafe areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir from Friday to Sunday could cause landslides.
