Schools in Haryana will start regular classes for grades 1 and 2 from March 1

Chandigarh: Schools in Haryana reopened on Wednesday for students of classes 3 to 5, while regular classes for grades 1 and 2 would start from March 1.

Students in classes 3 to 5 returned to classes after a gap of approximately one year as physical classes were suspended to investigate the spread of COVID-19.

Classes for grades 3 to 5 are being held from 10 am to 1.30 pm.

The Haryana government has also decided to start regular classes for grades 1 and 2 from 1 March. School hours will be from 10 am to 1.30 pm.

The parents of the students must submit a consent form to the school head / classroom teacher before sending them to schools. In addition, parents who wish to continue education online may continue to do so.

The government has decided that schools will not force parents to send their wards, the statement said.

In the last 6 months, schools in class 6 to 12 had already reopened in the state.

The state government later decided to reopen the schools for students of classes 3 to 5 from 24 February.

Schools have been asked to follow all COVID-19 related guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Each school will be divided into three wings. The statement said that if a student in a wing is found to be COVID-19 positive, that wing will be closed for 10 days and the entire school will be closed.

If more than one wing’s students are found to be COVID-19 positive, the entire school will be closed for 10 days.
