KARACHI: Senior politician and senior PML-N leader Senator Mushahidullah Khan has passed away after a long illness, party leader Muhammad Zubair confirmed on Thursday morning.
Senator Mushahidullah Khan, who died in Islamabad, had been ill for some time Geo News, Who quoted Zubair.
Zubair, who is also the spokesperson for PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz, added that the late senator was a federal minister under the previous government and was one of the party’s most senior leaders.
Maryam Nawaz said she was “disgusted” by the “sad news” of Senator Mushahidullah’s death.
“Senator Mushahidullah Khan, a loyal and exceptional MNS comrade, left us. He will never forget the love and affection of his parents. Great loss.
He wrote on Twitter, “May Allah bless him with every blessing he has reserved for the next life. Amen,” he wrote on Twitter.
According to the family of Senator Mushahidullah, his funeral prayers will be offered later Noon Friday after Friday prayers in Sector H-11 of Islamabad.
The senior PML-N leader was the chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Aviation, as well as a member of the Chairperson’s Council and several other standing committees.
He was part of the Parliamentary Committees on the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner and members of the Election Commission of Pakistan, Kashmir, and National Security.
