‘Serial rapist’ arrested in Islamabad

Islamabad police on Monday arrested an alleged serial rapist Kim Dako who was involved in the rape of more than 20 women, including a police commando, according to 24 News HD TV channel.

Police have been searching for the suspect for more than two years. He robbed women of money, jewelery and mobile phones after raping them.

Rural Zone Superintendent of Police (SP) Rana Wahab confirmed that accused Zaheer Ahmed had confessed to raping more than 20 women after looting them.

The SP said the accused revealed that the victim was unconscious while walking alone on the road sprayed on her face and then took her to the bushes on the outskirts of Coral, Islamabad.

He further said that the accused was also involved in the rape of a lady police commando while she was returning home from duty in the same area. The accused raped her two years ago after knocking her unconscious. Police have been searching for the accused ever since, he said.

Local police obtained a five-day physical remand of the accused and started investigation. Inspector General (IG) Qazi Jameel-ur-Rehman and SSP Operations Mustafa Tanveer also announced cash prizes and certificates of appreciation for the police officers who arrested the serial rapist.
