Shibli Faraz says a cabinet reshuffle is expected next week

PTI leader Senator Shibli Faraz said on Sunday that he hoped Prime Minister Imran Khan would reshuffle departments in the federal cabinet this weekend.

PTI leader, addressing Geo News The talk show “New Pakistan” said it had no information on whether he would be included in the cabinet, but believed that Fawad Chaudhry would be an effective information minister.

Earlier, sources had informed Geo News That Prime Minister Imran Khan had decided to re-appoint Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry as Information Minister.

Chaudhry first took over as Information Minister in 2018, then, in 2019, Firdous Ashiq Awan was appointed, and after his removal, the charge was handed over to Senator Shibli Faraz. Now, once again, Chaudhry has been appointed.

Since coming to power in 2018, Prime Minister Imran Khan has reshuffled his cabinet five times. More than half of the prime ministers have changed their portfolios at least once.

The first exchange of fire and compensation took place in April 2019 in the country’s highest decision-making body, the cabinet.

If the Prime Minister moves forward with a major reshuffle, it will be the sixth since the PTI government came to power three years ago.

In December 2020, during the last reshuffle, Prime Minister Imran Khan reshuffled the portfolios of cabinet members and appointed Sheikh Rashid as Interior Minister.
