Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz said on Saturday that the Pakistan Democratic Alliance (PDM) was trying to destabilize the country with its statement and clarified that the government’s anti-state statements Will not tolerate

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, Shibli Faraz said that the opposition was directly attacking institutions with the aim of creating divisions.

He said that the PDM leaders did not condemn the objectionable statements of some of their colleagues but on occasion even came to their defense.

The Minister said that the speech of former Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq had caused outrage among the people. Ayaz Sadiq criticized the Pakistan Army and Air Force and the Indian media used his comments to harm Pakistan.

He noted that a hybrid war was raging in Pakistan, adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan had saved Pakistan from bankruptcy with the help of friendly countries. He observed that the government had made reforms in the housing sector, initiated housing projects and eliminated the account deficit.

He said that since Don Lex, there has been a continuum of events and it shows that the country is being pushed towards instability at a time when India is unfortunately using anti-Pakistan rhetoric.

Shibli referred to the recent incident of desecration of Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum by Safdar Awan and urged the national media to point out the politically motivated activities in the opposition which are tarnishing the image of the country.

He warned that the government would not allow the opposition to issue irresponsible statements that were against the country and were harming it internationally.

He assured that the Prime Minister would change the political culture of the country and now politics would focus on national issues and not on personal interests.

He pointed out that Maryam Safdar, Bilawal Bhutto and Maulana Fazlur Rehman made statements which did not benefit the national interest.

The Minister said that Pakistan was created in the name of Islam and this fact was presented in the resolution of objectives. He said that it has been established that any country had to disintegrate by humiliating its armed forces and in this context gave examples of Libya, Syria and Afghanistan where such methods were used to create chaos and destruction. Shibli said Pakistan defeated India when its air force came to attack. He said that the failure to attack Pakistan exposed the incompetence and incompetence of the Indian Army, adding that Pakistan was a nuclear power and some powers did not like this fact.

He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had effectively raised the issue of Islamophobia and blasphemy against the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) and had written letters to the heads of state asking them to state that they were against the Prophet of Islam (PBUH). Shibli said the opposition, especially the PML-N, was serving its own interests. He added that the PML-N was about to take advantage of the system that was in place during his 40-year rule.

He reminded that Imran Khan struggled for 22 years and then he got the people’s vote to form the government.

The minister remarked that his father, Ahmed Faraz, had never asked him to join the ranks of the corrupt and dishonest.

He said that the opposition has adopted a double standard and it has nothing to do with the development of the country.

He further said that Pakistan did not progress in the 40 years rule of opposition parties but their leaders expanded their business and now they are sitting in London and working against Pakistan.

Shibli, citing media reports about PML-N leader Lt Gen (retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch, appealed to senior opposition elements to come out in support of the institutions.

He said that Hafiz Hussain Ahmed had made a clear statement which showed that there was a difference of opinion in JUI-F.

He said that the people of Pakistan would be punished for roaming in opposition. He further said that PPP had ruined Sindh and now it was claiming to turn northern areas into paradise.

Responding to a question, he said the government’s priority is to provide stability and ensure the country’s development.

The opposition may criticize the government and Prime Minister Imran Khan’s stance makes it clear that he is ready to discuss all issues with the opposition, but he said no “NRO” would be issued on corruption.

The minister said that the democratically elected government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would take legal action against anti-state leaders for making anti-state remarks.

“Our intelligence agencies and the Foreign Office are monitoring everything, especially Nawaz Sharif’s activities in London,” he said.

He said that during his tenure, Nawaz Sharif gave the impression that one should only do business with India while setting aside other important national issues.

He added that Nawaz had no political future because he was convicted and wanted by the court.

In response to a question, he clarified Fawad Chaudhry’s statement regarding Pulwama and stressed that Pakistan would retaliate against any aggression by India. He further said that Delhi was trying to spread chaos in the country but the people of Pakistan would reject those elements which were detrimental to the national interest.

Shibli said that Nawaz Sharif recognized the ownership of his properties on the floor of the National Assembly.

He said that MPs definitely have immunity but they cannot lie on the floor of parliament.

Shibli said that in the government, Imran Khan was not doing any business while other leaders were building properties in Pakistan when he was in power.

He said that during his tenure, Nawaz Sharif took action against army chiefs and judges. He added that Nawaz accepted only the elections in which he had won.

The minister said that the PTI government had taken the economy out of trouble after the coup d’etat, created jobs and helped the poor under the Ehsan program. .

He said that the government does not have the magic wand to change everything in two years, imported wheat and sugar have come from abroad and the government’s priority is to control inflation and rising prices.

He said the government had no intention of banning the Pakistan Democratic Alliance. People should stay away from opposition politicians who are harming institutions.

Shibli said the government would help the Turkish brothers and sisters affected by the Izmir earthquake.
