The Punjab government announced on Thursday that as the country seeks to vaccinate 70 million people by the end of December, the SIM cards of those who refuse to be vaccinated will be blocked.
The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid and chaired by a high-ranking civil and military official.
During the meeting, officials decided to open the walk-in vaccine to people over the age of 18 from June 12.
The provincial government will set up mobile vaccination camps outside shrines across the province and vaccinate people with cancer and AIDS on a priority basis.
With polio vaccinations, people will be able to enter cinemas, restaurants and attend weddings.
The decision comes a day after the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) announced the opening of a walk-in vaccination facility to all citizens over the age of 18 starting Friday, June 11.
