However, for the past one week the COVID-19 number has suddenly started stoning and every day the spike is only more frightening. It would be prudent enough not to proceed only on 1 August and it would have to wait for at least 15 more days – the ‘Shamshera’ unit had new common sense.
So now, Yash Raj has set a date for August 15 to temporarily re-roll for ‘Shamshera’. This is for 4 to 6 days of work with some scenes and patchwork.
Confirming the delay, Ashok Dubey (General Secretary, FWICE) told us, “Yes, there has been a fortnight delay as far as ‘Shamshera’ is concerned. Shooting of the remaining parts will now begin from August 15.”
Set in the 1800s, ‘Shamshera’ is about a dacoit tribe who commanded the fight for their rights and freedom against the British. Ranbir (in a double role) will be seen in the titular role, while Dutt Pratipakshi and Vaani play the role of a dancer. Ronit Roy and Iravati Hershey are also playing important roles in the film.
Other films stalled in shoot / post-production due to coronovirus attack are Salman Khan’s Radhey, Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Jersey’, Varun Dhawan’s ‘Coolie No.1’ and Ajay Devgan’s ‘Maidan’.
