DEHRADUN: Woolen flying squirrel, which was considered extinct almost seventy years ago, was reported to the Forest Research Institute in Gangotri National Park in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand on Monday.
The institute said, “The Wooly Flying Squirrel was considered extinct 70 years ago in the IUCN Red List. We spotted the squirrel in 18 of the state’s 13 forest divisions during a survey.”

“The flying squirrel uses its cute claws as a parachute,” the Forest Research Institute told the media.
