Colombo: Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) honored two celebrities on Friday Cricket Umpires – DN Pathirana and KRP Dolwala – who retired from delinquent duties after serving more than 20 years.
The SLC said in a statement, “Pathirana and female umpire Dolavala were presented with a memento and cash prize at a simple ceremony held at the SLC headquarters in Maitland Place.
Pathirana served as a major umpire in the domestic circuit from 1982 to 2006 and repaired 30. One day international Matches in addition to appearing in 8 Test matches as a reserve umpire.
Dolwala was a former Sri Lankan player who umpired after his playing days and worked as an umpire for two decades.
At the time of his retirement, he was a qualified umpire for the Sara Trophy at SLC. Pathirana and Dolwala were presented cash prizes at a function organized by the chairman of the SLC Umpires Committee. Deepal Madurperuma And SLC head of domestic cricket, Chintka Adirimne.
