A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had called for a speedy and just solution to the Palestinian problem on Wednesday when he spoke to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of solidarity among the Muslim Ummah, and the need to adopt a collective approach to protect the rights of Muslims, especially those living in foreign occupation.
The statement said that the Prime Minister praised the country’s leadership for its role in ending hostilities in Palestine.
“Condemning in the strongest terms the Israeli aggression against innocent Palestinians, especially women and children, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of a speedy and just solution to the Palestinian problem.” Said
The statement said that the Prime Minister demanded the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Occupied Palestinian Territories, including Jerusalem.
Prime Minister Imran Khan called for the restoration of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the right to return to Palestine. He called for the establishment of an independent, viable and prosperous Palestinian state as part of a two-state solution, with pre-1967 borders and Al-Quds as its capital.
Outlining Pakistan’s recent efforts to raise the voice of the Palestinian people, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued support for a just solution to the Palestinian problem.
In addition, President Sisi invited the Prime Minister to visit Egypt, while the Prime Minister renewed the invitation to President Sisi to visit Pakistan.
The two countries agreed to continue with high-level exchanges to further strengthen bilateral political and economic ties.
