Tamil Nadu: 50 pc weightage in class 10 result while evaluating class 12 marks

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government on Saturday announced the evaluation criteria for calculation of marks for class 12 state board exams.

As per the notification released by the state government, the class 10 state board result will be used to evaluate the class 12 state board exam marks.

“The class 10 board examination will carry 50 per cent weightage, while class 11 will carry 20 per cent marks and class 12 internal assessment and practical examination will carry 30 per cent weightage,” the statement said.

Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, CBSE had also canceled the Class 12 exams earlier this month. Several other state boards have also announced similar decisions.

CBSE will evaluate Class 12 students for theory on the basis of 30 percentile from class 10 board, 30 percent from class 11 and 40 percent on the basis of performance in unit, midterm and pre-board tests.

CBSE on June 21 informed that the results of class 12 board exams will be declared by July 31.
