According to IQ Air, Lahore has once again found its way into five cities with the world’s worst air quality.
On Thursday, Lahore released IQ Air figures, fourth from Dhaka in Bangladesh, Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and fourth from Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan.
Lahore has a Particulate Substance (PM) rating of 210, which ranks the city in the “extremely unhealthy” category of air quality.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency declares air quality satisfactory if the AQI is less than 50 years.
To reduce smog, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority in Punjab has sealed 1,844 brick kilns, 2,850 industries till December 16 and diverted 13,135 vehicles till December 16.
The PDMA has arrested 548 people on charges of harming the environment, according to a December 16 authority report.
