A meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan failed to reach a consensus on releasing the results of the 2017 census on Wednesday.

Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa agreed to announce the results of the 2017 census, however, Sindh opposed the move and demanded that the results be released only after the new census.

On the issue of distribution of Zakat funds funds in the provinces / federal territories after the 25th amendment, the meeting agreed on the formula of Zakat distribution distribution fund and decided that after the integration of FATA into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, funds would be allocated for Zakat funds.
