The Election Commission will hear a petition against the Senate election video scandal on September 22

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will hear a petition against the Senate election video scandal on February 22.

The ECP had set a date for hearing a petition against the video scandal in which some PTI MPAs were seen taking bribes from a Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) representative before the 2018 Senate elections. In return, these MPAs cast their votes for PPP candidates instead of for their own party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

PML-N leader Murtaza Javed Abbasi has submitted a petition to the ECP demanding an inquiry into the video scandal. A five-member ECP bench headed by the Chief Election Commissioner will look into the matter.
