Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday contacted Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to discuss the dire situation in Palestine.

Foreign Minister Qureshi expressed Pakistan’s deep concern over the storm at Al-Aqsa Mosque and serious human rights violations. He condemned the continued attacks by the Israeli Defense Forces on Palestinians, especially innocent civilians and children, adding that Israeli actions violated all principles of humanity and international law.

Foreign Minister Qureshi recalled the joint statement issued by Saudi Arabia during the recent visit of the Prime Minister to the United Kingdom on May 8, 2021, which also included the common perspective of the two countries on the issue of Palestine.

The Foreign Minister assured the Saudi Foreign Minister of Pakistan’s unwavering support for the just cause of Palestine.

Expressing gratitude for the warm Saudi hospitality during the recent concluding visit of the Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Qureshi briefed his counterpart on the telephone call after the visit between Prime Minister Imran Khan and His Excellency King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the patron saint of the two mosques.
