According to the publication, the MQM-P has demanded the vice-chairmanship of the Senate in exchange for its vote of confidence in the prime minister.
The government has convened a meeting of the National Assembly for a vote of confidence in the prime minister after the PTI suffered a setback in the Senate elections – where the joint opposition candidate in Islamabad, Yousuf Raza Gilani, defeated Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh.
An MQM-P delegation led by Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui called on the Prime Minister, where he expressed his concerns after being asked to support him yesterday.
MQM leaders said the government’s promises had not been fulfilled.
