National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has appealed to opposition parties and government parliamentarians to abide by the proposed code of conduct and not to cause a commotion during the assembly proceedings.
Opposition parties in the National Assembly met with Speaker Asad Qaiser. According to an inside story revealed by 24 News HD, NA Speaker Asad Qaiser urged the opposition parties to cooperate and not to create a commotion in the House. According to the proposed code of conduct, all parliamentarians are bound to abide by this code of conduct. The rule states that members are allowed to use obscene language at home. Sources said that the Speaker would take action against the violation of the code of conduct. He said that no member was allowed to film a house action and protest or shout slogans while standing on the bench.
Sources said that Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and PPP leader Shazia Murree exchanged harsh words during the meeting. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that if the opposition parties made a fuss over the proposal of the Prime Minister, they would do the same in the presence of the Leader of the Opposition.
PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah said that respect for party leaders was important for everyone. Shahida Akhtar Ali said she should respect all parliamentarians. He said that interruption of speech of any member should not be allowed.
The Speaker asked the MPs to consult their party leadership. Opposition and government members of parliament sought time for consultations.
