Inter-Services Public Relations said on Wednesday that the Pakistan Army had “inflicted heavy casualties on Indian troops and men” after another ceasefire violation along the Line of Control in the Satwal sector.

The ISPR added that a 22-year-old brave soldier, Mukhtiar, was martyred during an exchange of fire with the Indian Army.

The development came less than a week after Indian troops targeted a UN Military Observer (UNMO) vehicle along the Line of Control.

According to ISPR, the UN vehicle was on its way to meet the victims of Indian ceasefire violations in the village of Polas in the Cheri Kot sector along the LoC.

No one was injured in the attack, but the vehicle in which the observers were traveling was destroyed.

During a press conference in Abu Dhabi on the same day, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi warned the world that New Delhi intends to launch a surgical strike against Pakistan.

During the presidency, Qureshi said he had received information “through our intelligence agencies” that India was preparing for a surgical strike against Pakistan and wanted to foster a new wave of terrorism.

“Appreciating the operational readiness and high morale of the troops, [Gen Bajwa] The statement said that the officers and men were commended for their constant supervision and professionalism.

“The Pakistan Army will take steps to protect innocent civilians along the LoC and defend the honor, dignity and territorial integrity of the motherland at all costs,” he said.
