Information and Broadcasting Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Monday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had directed the government team to make another contact with the opposition parties on the proposed electoral reforms.

In a tweet, the minister asked Attorney General for Pakistan Khalid Javed Khan to brief the Prime Minister on the key features of electoral reform after a meeting with opposition parties and the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) legal team. Will He said that the Attorney General would submit a report to the Prime Minister containing the opposition’s suggestions on electoral reforms.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said that now the people of the country will see improvement and reforms in all walks of life as they have left behind a difficult time. Addressing a gathering of parliamentarians affiliated with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its allies, the Prime Minister said, “When you bring change or reform, there is always resistance and difficulties.” “Those who benefit from the corrupt system and the mafia will resist and they will create obstacles to protect the privileges they are getting from the system,” he said.

He said that the government faced resistance while bringing reforms in various sectors. Referring to the work of government-run hospitals, he said they had been trying to reform their management system for the past three years but still faced resistance. He observed that on the other hand, there is a system of reward and punishment in private hospitals as well.

The Prime Minister also called for improving the standards of the Medical Institute. He said that Pakistan has been one of the few countries in the world which has witnessed an extraordinary growth rate of 4% during the 19 epidemics.

The Prime Minister said that 90 per cent data was collected under the Ehsan program, and now he would provide direct subsidy to the poorer sections of the society. Referring to the construction of houses for the low-income group, he said that the people would soon see a revolution unfold. He also thanked all parliamentarians and allied parties for their full support to the government.

In addition, Fawad Chaudhry said that frivolous political leadership is a big challenge for the country because of its immature attitude. He added that the media could play an important role in promoting the narrative of the states.

The Information Minister said that now wars in the world are fought through the victory of one’s statement. Ironically, no attention was paid to this aspect in the past.

He said that recently an information lab has been caught through which it has been seen that 845 fake websites are running against Pakistan while spreading false news on sensitive issues like Balochistan and Kashmir. He claimed that more than 300,000 tweets were shared from Ahmedabad, India. He said that today’s world is a world of public opinion, now wars are fought through rhetoric, the more rhetoric is accepted, the more success is committed. The Chief Minister said that by using the latest technology and allocating maximum amount of money to the state media, we can effectively fight the media war against the enemies of Pakistan. He said that all this was due to the weak media policies of the previous governments as they did nothing about the image of Pakistan as well as the media tactics of the enemies against Pakistan.
