The Prime Minister urged the party legislators to follow their conscience in the Senate elections

Prime Minister Imran Khan told his party’s lawmakers in a meeting on Monday that he knew that the opposition parties were contacting him before the Senate elections, but he should vote according to his conscience.

According to sources, the Prime Minister asked: “If you choose thieves and looters, what is the difference between you and them (referring to the corrupt leaders of the opposition parties)?” [to vote in the Senate election]”

Khan welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision on the government’s request for Senate elections by open vote. He said the identification of ballot papers would help end horse trading in the Senate elections. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate in the Senate elections Yousuf Raza Gilani has asked the Prime Minister to vote for him. In response to this, Khan said that now the opposition wants to give him NRO in the form of vote. He said that under no circumstances would he surrender to the pressure of the opposition.

The prime minister said he was aware of rising prices and rising inflation, but that the government would address them. He also said that the government would complete the development schemes of the parliamentarians on priority basis.
