The Punjab Chief Minister denied why Earth Hour is celebrated

On Friday, Punjab Minister for Colonies and Culture Khel Ahmed Castro surprised environmentalists and conservationists with his unique initiative as to why Earth Hour is celebrated every year.

A gathering was organized by the Parks and Horticulture Authority on the occasion of Earth Day in D-Ground Area of Faisalabad, where school children planted trees on the occasion of planting trees.

Castro was invited to the gathering as a special guest. Talking to media, he was asked to comment on what he thinks of Earth Hour.

The minister replied that Earth Hour is celebrated to prevent “earthquakes”.

“Everywhere you look today, the tide of protectionist sentiment is flowing.

“They (the trees) stop everyone […] We have to stop the earthquake [them] And make the land green, “Castro added.

Other government officials standing nearby could not help but react.

Every year, on April 22, Earth Day is celebrated by the nations of the world to declare their love for the earth and their commitment to protecting the environment.

Earth Hour, on the other hand, is usually celebrated on the last week of March each year, during which people around the world turn off all unnecessary lights for an hour to symbolize the importance of caring for the planet.
