The world’s longest rabbit, Darius, disappears

London – Have you seen the world’s longest rabbit, Darius?
The heavyweight bun, which is four feet long and weighs 50 pounds, should be easily spotted. But he disappeared this past weekend, and now the police are involved, appealing for information about his apparent abduction from his home in a small English village.
Darius owner Annette Edwards has offered a £ 2,000 bounty of $ 2,745 for her safe return, no questions asked. She described her disappearance Sunday from her home in Stoolton, England, in a post on Twitter, calling it a “very sad day”. He said that the rabbit was now too old to breed, “so please bring it back.”

A former model turned rabbit breeder, who holds four world-record titles for her animal size, Edwards has previously sold Darius’ offspring for 250 pounds.
“He is upset just because he is such a lovable character,” he told the British newspaper The Telegraph that Dara, who has largely retired from public appearances, was on a special diet for his age and would die without it.
Edwards did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Monday. But the police responsible for the area have halted the matter, important, and appealed to those who gave information about the theft to come forward. Police say they believe the rabbit was stolen from an enclosure in Edwards’ garden on Saturday.
In 2010 Darius was crowned the world’s tallest rabbit by Guinness World Records. In a 2019 interview with Canadian broadcaster CBC, Edwards noted a type of domestic rabbit, known as the Continental Giant, was historically banned for its meat and fur. “An old man” who “may be a little grumpy.” Still, he said, “He hasn’t lost his shine.”
Darius gained attention online and traveled around the country for events with Edwards, who often appeared dressed with him as the cartoon character Jessica Rabbit. According to NBC’s Today Show in an article in 2010, Darius was insured for $ 1.6 million and traveled with a bodyguard.
But his reign as the world’s tallest rabbit was already under threat from his dynasty, some of which measure more than 4 feet long.
“They are very special; They are different, ”Edwards said of her pets in a CBC interview. “They are a lovely creature, very gentle,” he said, “they like dogs more than rabbits.”
