Kangana Ranaut said that she got emotional after hearing her petition on behalf of the Mumbai High Court against the demolition of a part of the Mumbai office of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). As the court said that the verdict should not be delayed as the house was falling during the rains, Kangana said she had tears in her eyes.

“Honorable Justice HC, it has tears in my eyes, my house is really crumbling due to the rain of Mumbai, you thought that so much mercy and concern about my broken house means so much to me, my heart is yours Thanks for giving me back what I lost, ”she wrote in a tweet.

A bench of Justices SJ Kathavala and RI Chagla directed BMC H-ward officer Bhagyavant Lat to file his reply on the petition. Late signed a demolition notice given to Ranaut on 7 September. Senior BMC counsel Anil Sakhare also asked for more time to lay down his reply. The bench, however, directed BMC to file its reply by Monday stating that it cannot delay the hearing.

“We cannot leave a demolished house like that. You need more time here but otherwise you are faster, ”observed Peetha. “The building has been partially demolished, and in the heavy monsoon, we cannot leave it in this state. We will start hearing on the petitioner tomorrow.

Kangana, in her petition filed in HC on 9 September, demanded that the demolition done by BMC in her Pali Hill bungalow be declared illegal.

He later amended his plea seeking Rs 2 crore as compensation from the civic body and its officials.

In his plea, he alleged that the BMC demolished the bungalow due to personal vendetta, as he had made some comments against the Shiv Sena-led Maharashtra government.
