MUMBAI: Against the backdrop of recent political activity in Maharashtra and the fourth phase of the closure, there is still time for the Chief Minister of the state. Uddhav Thackeray On Wednesday, the leaders of the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) met.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat, Water Resources Minister Jayant Patil, Transport Minister Anil Parab and others attended the meeting.
The political scenario in the state heated up after a BJP delegation led by the former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Recently the state governor met BS Koshyari and complained to him about the government’s “failure” to deal with the Kovid-19 crisis.
BJP MP on Monday Narayan Rane Met the Governor at the Raj Bhavan and demanded imposition of President’s rule for the “failure” of MVA dispense in dealing with the coronovirus situation.
The ruling MVA on Tuesday accused the opposition party of trying to destabilize the state government and said that the numbers are in its favor. It also said that the government was “strong and stable”.
Fadnavis later said that the BJP was not interested in forming a government in the state and wanted effective control of the Kovid-19 crisis.
Maharashtra has the highest number of Kovid-19 cases reported in the country.
The current lockdown, imposed to prevent the spread of Kovid-19, is scheduled to expire on 31 May.
Speaking to media persons on Tuesday, state Chief Secretary Ajoy Mehta had said that the government would reduce the lockdown “very slowly and in a calibrated manner”.
The NVA, a key component of MVA, is also working to resume business activities in a phased manner to bring the state economy back on track.
