LUCKNOW: Governor Anandiben Patel on Monday appointed Ranjana Pandey, a retired judge of the Allahabad High Court, as the Inquiry Officer to look into serious complaints of financial and administrative irregularities leveled by certain individuals against the Vice Chancellor of Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra, Professor Ashok Kumar Mittal. did. Mittal has been relieved with immediate effect till the completion of the investigation. The Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University, Prof. Alok Rai has been given additional charge to continue the functioning of Agra University.

Mahesh Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor, said in a release from the Raj Bhavan, “Mittal is accused of indiscipline, financial and administrative discrepancies. Also, Mittal was found not prepared on the reference points raised by Patel during the review meetings held by the Governor from May 31 to June 2. Gupta said that the replies given by him during the review meeting were found unsatisfactory.
