US expresses concern over civilians killed in Afghanistan

Washington: The US has recently expressed concern over the killing of civilians by a Taliban group in war-ravaged Afghanistan.
At a media briefing on Friday, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said the US was “closely tracking” and “concerned” about retaliatory killings of civilians in Afghanistan.
“If the Taliban claim to have international legitimacy, these actions will not give them the legitimacy they seek. They do not need to remain on this path. They can choose to dedicate that same energy to the peace process. as they are for themselves. Military operations,” Afghanistan’s Tolo News quoted Saki as saying.
Recently, the Taliban killed several prominent figures in Afghanistan, including the government’s media chief Dawa Khan Mainpal, the famous poet Abdullah Ifi and the country’s famous comedian Nazar Mohamed.
There have also been several reports that the Taliban are looting innocent civilians after taking control of key areas.
On Friday, the rebel group captured Zaranj, the capital of Nimroj province.
Ever since foreign troops began fleeing Afghanistan, the Taliban had been fighting extensively with the Afghan government in an effort to gain control of key areas.
