US traces first case of South African Kovid-19 edition

Washington: According to officials, the US has detected the first cases of new and highly infectious coronavirus virus discovered in South Africa for the first time.
According to the report of the news agency Xinhua, two cases were detected in the state of South Carolina.
In a statement on Thursday, the state’s Department of Health and Environmental Control said it “has no known travel history and there is no connection between these two cases”.
Both infected patients are adults, one according to the department, from the Lowcountry and the other from the urine zone.
The B.1.351 South African version has been identified in more than 30 countries, but these are the first cases discovered in the US.
On Monday, health officials in the state of Minnesota confirmed the first Covid-19 case caused by P.1, the first to be identified in Brazil.
Meanwhile, the version B.1.1.7, first discovered in Britain, has been found in more than 20 US states.
As of Friday morning, the country’s total caseloads and deaths were 25,739,405 and 432,864, respectively.
