Vanessa O’Brien, the only woman to reach the highest and lowest points on Earth, demands COAS

RAWALPINDI: Renowned British and American climber Vanessa O’Brien (due to her dual citizenship) met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa here on Friday.

Vanessa is the only woman to have ever climbed Mount Everest, the world’s highest point, and reached the world’s deepest place via Challenger Deep. She also raised the flag of Pakistan.

The DG ISPR said in an official tweet that during his meeting, General Bajwa appreciated Vanessa’s achievements and thanked her for promoting Pakistan as its Goodwill Ambassador.

The ISPR tweet said: “Ms. Vanessa O’Brien met #Quas. She is the second woman to climb the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, and 2 of the world’s deepest PT Challenger Deep. The flags were flown, the COS commended and thanked him for his achievements.
