Virdhawal Khade exited the National Swimming Camp citing ‘personal reasons’ More Sports News

NEW DELHI: Asian Games bronze medalist Virdhawal Khade Dropped out of two-month training camp held on Tuesday Swimming Federation of India (SFI) citing personal reasons for expecting the Olympics.
The 28-year-old was to travel to Dubai to camp with fellow swimmer Srihari Nataraj Khushgra Rawat.
“I decided against (attending the camp) for personal reasons,” Khade told PTI.

Earlier, SFI called Khade, who works as a tehsildar Maharashtra The government was awaiting leave permission from its employer.
The SFI general secretary said, “It looks as if he will leave the camp until permission is granted. He asked for it some time ago.” Monal Chokshi Said earlier in the day.
Natraj, Rawat and coach AC Jayarajan arrived in Dubai on Tuesday afternoon.
They will be joined by swimmer Sajan Prakash, a new entrant in the list of swimmers to attend the camp.
Prakash traveled to Phuket in February to train swimming meets and has been living there since then.
Chokshi told, “Saajan Prakash will also reach today.”
Prakash, who had already started training in Thailand, said he decided to attend the camp along with his physiotherapist and coach Pradeep S Kumar, who are both in Dubai.
Prakash said, “I wanted to get the support of physio and my long time physio will help me in this and my coach is Pradeep sir too. So, I decided to train in Dubai.”
All three swimmers tested COVID-19 upon arrival and would later be eliminated for four days before hitting the pool.
Chokshi said, “They all took a COVID test before leaving and they will be tested again when they land. This will be followed by a four-day quarantine.”
The swimmers will train at the Aqua Nation Swimming Academy in Dubai.
Six swimmers – Natraj, Khade, Prakash, Rawat, Aryan Makhija And Monitory page – Has achieved ‘B’ qualification in their respective events for the postponed Olympics and is hoping to create an ‘A’ standard.
While Makhija and Page have resumed training, Nataraj, Khade and Rawat have not entered the pool since March 25 when the first coronovirus-forced lockdown was announced.
